| Pro-life | a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support legalizing abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions? | ||
| Abortion is not birth control. It is time to stop normalizing abortion as if it is another form of birth control. | |||
| Yes | a) In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions? | ||
| No | b) In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? | ||
| In this time of chaotic financial uncertainty, now is not the time to be increasing taxes upon families and small businesses. It is the time to evaluate cutting back on non-essential programs that the state funds AND looking at tax rebates/credits that the state gives large businesses. Also, have any state employees been put on un-paid leave that can not do their jobs during this crisis? Coming out of this crisis the state will need to be running leaner and more efficient. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support a limit on campaign contributions to state candidates? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| No | e) Do you support automatic voter registration? | ||
| Automatic voter registration is just ripe for abuse. | |||
| No | a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| Yes | b) Should an individual under 18 accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support the use of private prisons in Washingon? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders? | ||
| Yes | f) Should State Patrol agents be allowed to destroy firearms that have been confiscated in criminal investigations? | ||
| Capital punishment in Washington State is a tricky issue as some prosecutors use it as a bargaining chip(unfairly). As such, life in prison with parole is more effective. Unfortunately some youth need to be sentenced as adults as determined by the courts. There are unfortunately many times in Washington State where a violent felon, who was an illegal alien, was not released to ICE and went onto to do more harm in the community. If ICE requests an immigration hold on a prisoner it should be honored. Drug offenders need to face some sort of sentence such as DUI. | |||
| No | a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support lowering state income taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits? | ||
| No | e) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Washington? | ||
| No | f) Do you support requiring employers to provide paid family leave? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19? | ||
| Yes | h) Do you support occupancy restrictions on domestic residences? | ||
| The best thing that state and local governments can do to promote economic growth is to reduce regulations and not to over-tax businesses and individuals. Also the regulations and limits that have been thrust upon the people in Washing ton State by the Governor to "combat COVID" along with inaction on ANTIFA has destroyed downtown Seattle. It would appear that the current Democratic leadership in Washington State wants to destroy the economy. WHY?? | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support adopting federal education standards in Washington? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support state funding for charter schools? | ||
| No | c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in Washington? | ||
| No | d) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Washington high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities? | ||
| By supporting charter schools you give people a choice of where they send their children to school. You also encourage the public schools to perform better. If you want to talk about increasing teachers salaries, I would first look at GREATLY reducing the number of school administrators FIRST. If you are unlawfully in the United States then you should not be getting in-state tuition. First of all, you are not LEGALLY eligible to work in the United States. It is time to prioritize the legal residents of Washington State first. | |||
| No | a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? | ||
| No | b) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions? | ||
| No | c) Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support restricting local waterway usage for commercial beverage production? | ||
| The development of renewable energy can be handles by the Federal Department of Energy. As a country we should be looking into the deployment of the newest generation of nuclear reactors. This country is doing more than its share to reduce greenhouse gasses. I would be more impressed if we were supporting a tree planting campaign in large cities. Trees act as natural carbon sink and provide shade which is much needed in some cities, The resulting shade reduces temperatures and improves air quality. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation? | ||
| Yes | b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows? | ||
| No | c) Should teachers be allowed to bring guns into the classroom after passing gun safety training? | ||
| No | d) Should a license be required for gun ownership? | ||
| There has to be SOME reasonable form of gun-control. But lets be realistic, legal gun owners are not committing crime. It is the thugs and punks obtaining illegal weapons who are committing those crimes. Those people need to do 5 years for each crime as an added sentence to whatever they get from the court for the other count of the indictment. If you are selling guns at a gun show, you are a small business. This is not a private citizen transaction. I have issues with teachers packing weapons. Are practicing monthly? Would it make the situation worse? | |||
| No | a) Should the state government increase funding for treatment facilities to combat opioid abuse? | ||
| No | b) Do you support Medicaid expansion through Washington's health care programs? | ||
| No | c) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance? | ||
| No | d) Do you support legislation that grants citizens the right to choose to die through euthanasia? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations? | ||
| No | f) Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19? | ||
| Opioid abuse is a serious problem. The question is are we using the current funds effectively? If not, repurpose them. Basic vaccinations should be mandatory for everyone to protect ALL of us. If you want to require everyone to carry health insurance, that is a point that should be resting with the Federal Government. Insurance should be affordable to those that do not get it at their job. How many illegal aliens have insurance vs legal residents of the United States? | |||
| No | a) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Washington's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| No | b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Washington's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| No | c) Do you support greater efforts by Washington state government in closing the pay gap between men and women? | ||
| We have enough laws on the books to protect people of "different identities". Time to stop letting "who think they are women" into women's restrooms. What is this pay gap that is talked about? It appears to be more about merit. Coming from the private sector there is no pay gap. It tends to be a gap resulting from performance, length of service, and in some cases the ability to work long hours which might result in faster promotion. | |||
| In this time of chaos, especially in Washington State, I stand proudly with the mean and women of Law Enforcement. The Democrats in Washington State have turned a blind eye to the LOOTING and RIOTING that has happened in Seattle. The mayor of Seattle described it as the Summer of Love. The Governor said he was not aware of any occupation of CHOP/CHAZ(How bad is Jay Inslee?). There are more guns on the streets than a year ago. Does the average person feel safer today vs a year ago? I doubt it. Vote Republican for change. | |||
| I will fight for No new taxes. Now is not the time to increase the financial burden on families and small businesses. We need to get our economy restarted and money in pocket of the average citizen. Also, Sound Transit needs to be reformed. The board that overlooks Sound Transit needs to be directly elected so that the board can be held accountable for the actions that they allow Sound Transit to take. You want to save money? Sound Transit spends ATLEAST 1% of its budget on public art. That is way too much money. Time to cut State spending. |
